Yeah, don't forget the trailer details. I went to get mine in NJ and concentrated so much on the boat, I never thought about the trailer (in detail). I got 15 miles from the starting point and one of the brakes froze up and caught fire. Luckily I brought enough tools that I was able to disable that side and I went on my way.

CHECK EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Open up, look at, and smell everything. If you run it, make sure the engine heats up to normal running temp. Should shift smoothly in and out of gear. While the engines cold check all the lines and wires, make sure there's no cracking or melted wires or hoses. Run your hand along the bottom of the manifolds & risers as well as the engine to check for any oil leaks or other fluids. Make sure all fluids are at the correct level. Check the bildge, check the motor mounts and bolts. Write down serial numbers from the engine and outdrives to check if they are the orginals. Take your time and check everything. Ask questions.

check headlinner in cabin!!!
I checked everything but the headlinner in the cabin. It starts to drop down right over the sink and it is hard to tell unless you press on it with your hand. I did not check the one in my 1999 271 and ended up costing me about $1300 with the upolstory man to fix it.
