Default 1988 311,value range?

Very close friend has a super clean 1988 311,Bravo drives, that he needs to sell.I sold him the boat in 06,trade in from original owner.Had engine issues soon after sale, installed two new re-man Jasper engines@ 12K. Boat is probrably as nice example of an older 311 that you will find, and I know there are some nice ones out there. What is a realistic price range? They are all over the map,I know. This one is nice, will get pics shortly, just need to give him a realistic expectation of what it might bring.

I know you have trouble posting pics...if you can't but can figure out how to email them, send them to me to post....

I have no idea about price. They seem to be going for high 20's but that's just my perseption and maybe not reality.

My friend let his go last fall for 23,000, it had TRS but was very nice with fresh HP500'S fresh drives, hydraulic steering, new interior, gauges, and a ton of smaller updates, ran a solid 74 on gps, I see Bravo ones for around 30,000 ish but I have seen the same boats for sale for 2 yrs in most cases... any 27ft up twin engine boat is going cheap right now..

Robert,
Tops, covers, trailer? Not too many 311 buyers want one without a trailer. Painted bottom? That's a huge drawback.

I personally think you can still bring mid-30s out of a nice one. Even though the market is tanked, you still can't buy an equivilant newer 311 sized boat for less than 60-70k. There are still people out there who will pay 35k for a nice one. It's still just the right size when considering an older Formula. The 272 is substantially smaller, the 292 was a wierd in-between that compromised cabin space, and the 357 is a freakin' barge. Plus, the 272, 292, and 311 were so close in top-end speed with the same power that it's silly not to buy the 311. So, in my opinion, the 311 is the "just right" size for anyone getting into a twin engine older Formula.

If it's got some nice canvas, a nice trailer, no paint, hasn't sat in the water all it's life, and the finish/vinyl is nice, it should bring mid-30s - regardless of gas prices.

Of course, I am a 311 owner and don't want to see these boats going for 20k When and if I sell mine, it's going for mid-30s or it's not going!!!

Mines not a perfect "10" but it's very nice. Aluminum tri-axle trailer, tonneau cover, full cover, carry on air, 454 Magnums with bravos, both engines less than 150 hours, no bottom paint ... I hope to get 30k.

Oh, and it's the ever popular "Palm Beach" colors.

How soon does he need to sell is the question? If soon, $25k.

The magic question to me ..... is ...... What do you buy or replace it with? Now I understand if you need to sell you need to sell ...... But mid 20s for these boats is crazy. Mid 30s is still ridiculous .... you can't even buy a bow rider for that kind of money.
Pound for pound the 311 is one of the best boats out there regardless the age of them. They are classics that still look great, ride great and are safe in big water.
You are going to have to spend $40,000 - $50,000.00 more to get into the newer stuff to get the ride and quality of a 311 today.

Why are we even thinking about whoring out the price of these boats.

I am a little bias because I have one .... but the facts are the facts.

Jeff

P.S. I will let mine go for alot more than $35000.00

Call me crazy ..... but it is what it is ....
