Last week when we put the boat in the water I had some leaking coming in from the water pick ups. Well today I pulled them and they were corroded so they just need to be replaced. While I was in there I was horrified to see a lot of wet wood. I am thinking HOW DID I MISS ROT!!!! Well it turns out that when Formula built the boat they must have filled the hole with dust from the shop floor to fill in the space between silicone thus saving them a lot of silicone. Once I pulled it all out and checked the transom it was as solid as a rock. Now I hope that I can still get these water pick ups so that it is an easy fix.
