Default Fresh water flush?

I have a 292 with 6.2's used in salt water and I'm looking for an engine fresh water flush system. I just got a Hydrohoist so the drives will be out of the water when it's flushed and I guess I could try climbing around out back to rig up the ear muffs evertime but I can see myself taking an un-wanted swim sooner or later doing that. Anybody know what's available for engine compartment mounted fresh water flush systems?

Thanks, Pat

The kit Formula uses is mounted on the engine. It is a Mercruiser part #.One part # gets everything you need, hose, clamps, bolts bracket etc.I don't have the Part # at home,I can post Mon if somone doesn't chime in.It is in the Merc dealer accessory catolog.Neat kit, easy install.

Thanks a bunch for the part number. I assume that this works like a normal flush system.....hook up the hose, start the engine, and let it run for a few minutes.

Hey, got any older 350SS or bigger you'd like to take a 292 in trade on?

Thanks, Pat

My flush had a quick disconnect fitting. Take a look at the inlet. Your 3/4" line is reduced to next to nothing. My mech does not advise using it unless you are in the water. I replaced the QC with a ball valve so at least I have a full 3/4" inlet. You should probably cover the drive inlet holes since most of the water is probably going to run out there.

I have the Merc flush factory installed and they use a Y fitting that directs the water to the sea water pump, any extra water flows out the drive. You would not want to block this off since city water pressure is between 50 & 70 lbs , this is too high for any engine. When you start your engine make sure water is coming out your exhaust and some should come out your dive pickup. If it is not you do not have enough water volume because of a small water line to your hose or your hose is too small. Do not run the engine faster than your water supply can keep up with or you will cook your sea water pump or over heat your engine.
