I still have my old F-2 boat. Saw 92.6 MPH at the 2002 Key West Worlds with 500's and 94+ at Lake-X with 525's in March of '03. Been thinking about putting in some BIG power just to see what we could get her to. Any ideas? Actually, I would REALLY like to drop in some 625 Ilmors. Adding HP and dropping a lot of weight should go a long way towards making her one of the fastest 382's ever!

Im seeing 97+with 700 NXt's. There is no issue. I lift the tabs all the way up, trim the drives a bit past neutral and it is rock steady. Over 85 the boat sets on the rear step. We have in SCOPE a 382 1100 quad whipple boat w/ surface drives that runs 120. I dont know what the rumors are about"handful" over 100. You cannot whack into a turn with any step hull. I did have about 10 seconds of chine walk on one run that was caused by hitting a wake at the right angle at the right time. A little tab down..gone, no sweat. I think a major difference between a bravo boat and mine is surfacing props. They add alot of bow lift at midrange and stern lift fast. I could see a tremendous difference in overall perf other than just speed.
