496 HO won't do more than edle and miss

Looking for answer to help me get my 353 running.
I have 496 HO and it will not do anything but idle and it missis on more then one cyclinder?
Compression is at 150 on all 8 and plugs and fuel is ok. No codes show up on merc code reader all ok,fuel pressure,water pressure. What can a backyard guy do next.

Change your fuel filter. Are you sure the fuel is good? Maybe hook up a small pony tank to test.

Are you just checking fuel pressure at idle or are you checking it as you are attempting to come on plane under a load? You could have a bad booster pump. Also, some 496's had a in-line automotive type fuel filter between the tank and booster pump. These are notorious for clogging. What year 496?
