I always thought Formula should change it to vinyl! You can even get it in chrome or brushed Aluminum look if you have to have that look. But you could do some realy cool fades or something custom also

my 1986 272 did not have a transom decal or logo. I checked with Steve at Formula and he confirmed that. Am having vinyl F - 272 LS side decals made up locally. It should come out fine.
Does anyone know if there is a annual Formula meeting in the Long Island - Southern New England area this year and where?
Thanks

Jon, is the $75 in 304L stainless and polished? Just out of curiosity, how much for polished aluminum ones? (I know this guy who does prismatic colors in powdercoating.....)
Also - will switching to metal cause any problems as far as the dreaded "black streaks" go?
I'm sure that 3M or somebody makes some killer-sticky double-sided foam tape. That's what comes on the factory emblems. I wouldn't want any screw holes on mine.
Boilerdaddy - you payin' attention to all this, or has anticipation of the smell of suntan oil gotten to you yet?

Jon, I am in for the $75---however, C-Spray had some thoughts on the project. I would be fine with further networking to do the best thing. I would specify 316 grade stainless, polished, for this project---and will pay more for those touches.
Agree with C-Spray, a good stickon foam would probably work, although, I would go with three skrew holes if needed.
C-Spray: Thanks for the input.

I guess once he makes up the lay out on the CNC machine he can make them out of what ever you want. Alluminum, stainless, plexiglas, plaster of paris

I do not know about the polishing but that is actually easy on a wheel.

Hmmmm - A big ol' one made out of smoked plexi could be pretty neat in the garage.....
Plaster of paris? Maybe for Shorgasm. Doh!!!
Decals! - I just remembered:
(1) Waterfoul had some made up in chrome mylar by a buddy of his last winter and sent me one. Get in touch with him if you're interested. I don't know if he can still get them or not.
(2) Lois Foglia of Lobo Graphics: They are self- proclaimed "Formula Freaks" and have a bunch of graphics files that Formula sent them, as well as decal-cutting and embroidery machines. Her email is [email protected].
-Just spoke to Lois - She confirmed that she has "tons" of Formula graphics files and can make pretty much any type/size decal you want out of any available decal material. (She has a 4' Thunderbird on the foredeck of her boat!) You can also call her at (866) 228 7892.

Yeah, yeah...I'm listening! There are all sorts of pros and cons with the different materials.
And yes, Chuck, within the half hour, I will be distracted by the smell of burning flesh, as I have my first appointment at the melanoma booth over my lunch hour.
