Make sure ....the rating is ok for your 292 ... I would say 10K?

yea wet weight is about 8000 lbs...

how much do these aluminum trailers weigh? 1000 lbs?

if so it gives me 1000 lb wiggle room. all the trailer manufacturers "float-on", "fastload", "rocket", and "all american" were fitting me with the same size trailer....

I would say 1200 tops ....
i think that allows me enough room for weight...the boat wont be topped off while on the trailer anyways.

Just fyi - this is what the bunks look like on my Prestige trailer for the 292. Supports it nice in all the right places. After receiving their first 292 they took measurements on the hull and designed a trailer.

Thanks. Wow, I didn't know that the original owners sold the business. They are very popular around here in the midwest. Looks like Heritage Trailers will continue the Prestige design.

i just bought this trailer...

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o35371-en.html

i need to modify it to fit a 292 stepped hull...what is the easiest method. i think the middle bunks need to be dropped but what about the outside bunks?

thanks.

ok .... the way I see it ....and depends on the step size ..
On the 353 the first step is 1.5" and second Step is 1.25 ....So ...you will need one 2x6 placed on top of the existing bunks to run from the Transom all the way to the second step ....then starting at the begining of the second step you will need another 2x6 on top of the first 2x6 to run from there forward to the first step ... First you will need to check the angle cut on the existing Bunks ....292 is 23* on both steps and the the bow is 25* ...I think ...check the diagrams you have ....Best way would be to have new bunks cut out of Cypress but costly ....and I am not sure if my way is not just fine ......I would glue and lag bolt the 2x's to the bunks ..countersunk ....m
