Well that sucks!

Yes the old remote Formula installed works with it and it will work with the new marine remotes too. I have not added any more remotes but probably will. One on the passenger side and one on the transom too. :D

As for the breaks.... A guy with out an Ipad would have just disconnected the brakes and towed it that way! :D

I've driven it a few times with NO trailer brakes at all, one time in the rain. Not good!!!

The new rotors were rubbing against the bracket assembly for some reason......something about them not being able to hold a tolerance or something with vendors. Replaced with kits that include rotors and brackets, and that was finished today. Hitting the water at Lake Castaic on Friday before noon. :D Hope all goes well. We have plans to go to Lake Mead a week from tomorrow!

Everything went pretty smooth on Friday. Nothing major to report other than everything worked great. A few adjustments and tweaks to do and we'll be ready. It's been nearly 7 years since I've been to this lake. They took 45 minutes to review the boat and check for Zebra Mussels?

Some pics from tonight. Tried for the SCOPE run on Saturday, but we ran a little late, my drain plugs were missing and had to go buy some, and we had a small oil leak on the port engine. We ended up just doing some hot laps in Long Beach then lunch at the Yardhouse. BOATING.......we love it!

sprink58 05-14-2012 06:09 AM

Beautiful job!!!

Well I can see that everyone in California is using Queen palms in their landscape as they are here in South Florida. Nasty rascals aren't they?

axapowell 05-14-2012 06:11 AM

Nort,

Looking good!

Any results on the speed runs?

Dave

I noticed that you pull your 382 with a SRW Ford. Is it a 250 or 350? I just sold our 2010 F-450 and replaced it with a 2012 F-350 SRW, and I am a little worried about how it will pull the 382. I will be trailering the boat for the first time this weekend and hope it does ok. I hope that the weight distributing hitch works well. I didn't use one on the F-450.

It's a 2012 F350 diesel. We went to Lake Mead a few weeks ago and it was awesome how well it towed the boat. I really mean it! It is lifted 4" and has a new massive hitch, but no equalizing hitch. I wanted to try without it and I think it does really well. Hope all goes well for you too!

As of last month we have 10 hours break in time on the new engines. Just in time for the SCOPE video and photo shoot run. In the morning went to get gas. The dock dude started the pump and I went to the restroom. I come out and my friend is holding up the pump handle and yelling "it broke off". Not awake yet.....I was "huh"?

As I got closer, I saw that the nozzle was gone. He said.....I think it went inside! We couldn't see any thing so we grabbed another and tried to fill the tank so we could still make the video run. It filled fine so we figured we'd address it later. LOL

My mechanic Eric (Maveric Marine) found the nozzle in the inlet hose still just before a 90 degree turn. As it turns out, he decided to replace all fuel hoses and vent hoses while we were at it.

Lake Mead over the labor day weekend......I felt a tick tick tick when the port drive was in forward. As it turns out, I think I damaged the drive during the run. A tooth broke and metal shavings ran though the upper and lower. I'm getting a new lower and remanufactured upper. Boating sometimes sucks.

axapowell 09-10-2012 03:55 PM

Wow Nort...Kinda Sucks! Glad it wasn't motor related...Got a little tick, tick, tick myself to explore over the winter. Fix it, you boat year round anyways, right?

Dave

We just started boating again! :)

Motors are super solid so that is good. Not sure what we're going to do in the big picture. The big boat we might go bigger and go smaller with this boat.

I ordered the cup holders form the new steps from what's his face and he talked me into the billet handles too. Neither the cups or the handles fit so I need to give him a call and see what's up. Fun fun!:lolhit:

Sydwayz 09-10-2012 06:57 PM

You probably could have seen that nozzle down the hose if you had a match or lighter handy. :D

Ha!!!! Thought about it for a second! It was actually down a few feet. :) :)

Audiofn 09-10-2012 08:15 PM

Dude was that boat built on a Friday over a indian burial ground? I mean seriously who the hell has a nozzle break off like that!

The boat is great! It was a nozzle that had been around for awhile and was between the boat and dock. Someone went by and caused a wake and it broke. :) :lolhit:

It might have been the same wake that made MyWay lose control. It took a few weeks to travel all the way to SoCal. :lolhit:

Audiofn 09-12-2012 08:41 AM

No it would have gotten stuck at LOTO and is still bouncing back and forth between the walls and caused the Formula Accident.

PhantomChaos 09-29-2012 10:30 AM

Went to go pick up the boat yesterday to put in storage. Drive is all replaced and a few other things "while we're at it" all done too. Went in the cabin to check the repair of the hatch and noticed my headliner starting to droop in three large areas. I figured I had lucked out over the years and Formula had somehow got it right on my boat. NOPE I was amazed that it all fell while inside in the shop in just a few weeks.

Left my boat there and now we're on to ripping out the headliner and redoing that. While we're at it, we're redoing the area where the TV was and finishing that. Endless......it truely is!

Nort I am starting to think it would have been cheaper to buy an OL!!!!! Sucks man sorry to hear about that.
