Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and have a question that I hope someone can answer for me. I have an 03 312 that needs a bimini top. I'm in sw Florida and my 2 and 4 year old can't take the sun and heat that well. I have been in contact with Formula on a couple of occasions and they have not been able to give me a definite answer on a part # for the top. I have also been in contact with Ameritex in Bradenton who is the OEM supplier for Formula but they also could find no information for an 03 312. I Spoke again today with Formula and was told by the service guy I spoke with that he believed that the 03 312 and the 03 353 used the same bimini frame and top. I really need to confirm if this is so before I plunk down 1600.00 bucks for a top that won't fit. The part # that formula gave me is 103417999-001. Anyone out there who has ordered a top for a 312 that can confirm on deny this or who has a different part#. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post but I have been going back and forth between Formula and Ameritex and with the great community of boaters here I thought someone could possibly end my agony. Great forum with a wealth of knowledge. Thanks

I've had 4-5 buddies buy bimini tops fron Overtons and all have worked well. The factory top that came on my 382 was stainless (they ordered aluminum) and that S.S. top was so heavy you couldn't handle the thing by yourself.
My previous 312 didn't come with one and right after I sold it the new owner had one custom made...he claimed that one was 1/2 what Formula wanted for theirs.
My suggestion is to save ALOT of money and get one from Overtons (or similar).

i've looked at it both ways and think I really want the stainless, south Florida environment is harsh on everything. I've had some local and online quotes for a stainless frame and for the frame the cost of those versus oem cost from Ameritex is a dead heat, plus I can drive to Ameritex and pick it up to save on freight shipping. The big cost in the oem top is the seamark fabric they use. Frame $625 Top $895. Thanks for the reply. I've had my finger on the buy it button on a semi-custom top from iboats about 3 times but couldn't pull the trigger. It just puzzles me that Formula can't pull this information up about the 312 ,it's like they never made the boat.
