NADA low retail is $13,600 average retail is $15,250. That is with the 330's and no extras. Recent boat sales have yielded substantial deep discounts from NADA, (upwards of 20 to 40%).

I feel that this buyers market will start to turn around and see the seller with the upper hand once the used and repo'd boats, which have flooded the market, become less prominent.

Best case right now is to get what you want, and wait till the spring to sell what you have. Just my opinion!

Dave

PS: Good to hear from you Robert!

Robert...based on some of the deals out there right now on what looks like nice 311's I don't think you should get into it for more than LOW 20's at most including trailer. If someone wants to get into an OKAY 311 (I am not talking about clean levels anywhere near like Got Twins, his buddies or Perfect Storm) that is not whooped at all it can be done for the teens to low 20's. Couple examples (again not saying these are cream puffs but don't look terrible from pics which can mean anything) current freshwater 311's

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/boa/2511529036.html doesn't look like includes trailer

Robert, is this the 311 with fresh water cooling you had 2-3 years ago?

Sorry, but you guys that want $30k+ for these are going to be disappointed until the home equity line market comes back. Nobody who has that cash is buying a 20-something year old boat.

$15-20k is the moving price these days, otherwise it sits. If you want more than that, advertise in Canada and Sweden.

Private party sales I think you are right on...mid 20's looks like it will get you a decent later model 311.

Thanks for all the comments. That is the beauty of OSO.Now I have a range to consider.I am going to bring the boat home and use it some as my personal boat to see just what I have and overall condition of everything. If it is as nice as I think it is it won't go at the low end of the range,I'll just keep it,as the 311 has always been one of my favorite Formulas. Thanks a lot for the comments and I'll keep you posted. Robert

Sold mine in June for $32k. 1991. Laser Imron.
It was immaculate, all original, unmodified, with low hours, stored indoors. 502 carb Magnums, 400 hrs. Lots of options.
The ONLY and I mean ONLY things wrong with it were:

Factory Kenwood CD changer no longer loaded discs properly (time to upgrade it to something with a flashdrive/ipod jack anyhow).
Gas fume detector sending unit needed replaced ($30 part).
The mechanical K-plane indicator cables were sticky and needed replaced (and I provided the new cables uninstalled with the boat).
The compass had a half-inch diameter air bubble in the top of the globe.

That's it. Perfect boat otherwise.
Adjust your pricing accordingly - that's the most recent sale I've seen of a really clean one.

Sold my '88 last year for 25K on a trailer. Rebuilt 454 Magnums and Bravo drives. Newer vinyl, upgraded stereo, very nice Palm Beach colors.

For sale over a year at that price, very few calls. Only one guy even came to see it; he bought it.
