Default trip 800's 94 419 formula

I have a friend with a 1994 419 that has put in new power and now is needing info for drive height. It has Imco boxes and he is wanting to now if the boat will handle better with shorties on all 3 drives, he is using 2 standards and 1 short now. Any help would be appreciated.

Default fixx

remove all 3,install #6 drives and the other 2 engines in a staggard form..sell all the bravo stuff..will save a ton of money when all the bravo stuff starts to brake after 10hr's of use with the 800 hp engines.

It's the right answer though.

I was told the center drive if brought up without raising the outside two would cause issues. The mix of props 3 across so close together would raise slip and lose efficiency.
If the outer drives are on extension boxes and raised then it might not be an issue.
The drive height is an issue same as ALL boats. You have to experiment with it and see. Not too many 419's repowered due to not being a fast boat to begin with.
The remove 3 and install #6's. Sounds great. Except the structures, transom, stringers, bulkheads, mounts, toilet, generator, sub floor, everything would have to be gutted and new installed.

I would say the idea of totally redesigning the back 1/2 of the boat is not the type of information the guy is looking for.

I doubt the drives are any closer than a fully staggered twin set up.

I would run it as is now to see how it handles. With faster speeds its going to run higher out of the water.
See how the props look if water boil shows up on the center drives blades.

We haven't been on the river for a couple of years do to water levels. We have been going to LOTO for 20+ years and Lake Perry the last 3 and even Grand lake a few times.
