I think that it has more to do with the finish of the part than the material itself. We all know about getting burned on the polished SS windshield frames, yet dark vinyls or paint can get almost as bad. I used silver powder coat on my step pads, and have had no problems with heat.
...We now return back to Made It Rain's 382 thread... |

Loved it. Of course, I am somewhat partial to silver boats...
If you find that it doesn't work for you, I may be prepared to take it off of your hands so you don't have to suffer. ;) Looks like early next week for the testing. Hopefully the weather will be ok. |

That has to be the best Fastec paint scheme yet. The silver looks great on the 38's. C-Spray,your redo is one of the nicest I've seen as well. The rebuild thread was awesome. Made It Rain, call me when it's time for a new one.Congrats

The 353 in Miami looked awesome... I'm sure you'll love it! The only thing that I would do, is read the Steplates thread here on the Formula Forum, and place your order now with Dave so your plates will be ready for Spring delivery! The cheap plastic step-plates really looked especially bad on this boat because of how highly polished and beautiful everything else was. The windshield frame, shifters, bezels, steering wheel, speaker grills, etc. are all highly polished stainless, and then you have the white plastic step-plate... Here are a few pics of the 353 that I took...
http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...w/DSC00068.jpg IMO something else that looks out of place is the white plastic compass on the silver dash. I added a chrome bezel and used white Fusion paint on plastic since the white plastic was beginning to yellow. I would think a chrome or polished bezel with a matching silver plastic housing would look much better. |
This is one more perfect FORMULA from the best boat builders in the world !! . Everyday
I'm smiling that I own a FORMULA ..Congratulations on your one of a kind . |

I think this boat looks awesome too! The color scheme is great. I agree on the comments about the step-plates.

Bondo: If you're interested, my 382 will go on the market this fall. RT930Turbo is first on the list at the moment, but I am open to bidding wars. ;) <Return to Made It Rain's thread now> |

The Ritchie compass is not plastic. It is powder coated aluminum. It comes in black or white.
