"l'ilmor than yours"
"l'ilmor Money"
"Two 10's!!"
Whatever you choose, i love the "l'ilmor" deal you got going. Boat looks PERFECT, Congrats again. Its nice to put product in hulls we haven't done yet.

Splitdecision271 03-31-2012 07:52 AM

It doesn't even sound like a boat when it rips by. That thing is awesome. Great color scheme too.

I just want to know what's next?

C_Spray 03-31-2012 09:32 AM

I think what's next is another set of test props. This is the first 382 from Formula to use speedmaster-sized props, so there's a little research involved...

fossil fuel 04-08-2012 08:54 PM

So again, will it be ready for Desert Storm??? you live in AZ I would think this would be a great Debut event??

BONDO10 04-19-2012 06:36 AM

Any new data? Interested too see the final numbers.

fossil fuel 04-24-2012 11:07 AM

Hmmm............?? silence

sprink58 04-24-2012 06:31 PM

It's been over a month since we heard from the buyer...anything new on the Formula Facebook page?

Yes and you just ruined the surprise! LOL :evilb::evilb:

C_Spray 04-27-2012 10:02 AM

There are two more 725-powered 382's currently in production. The first boat did run faster than 92, but all testing was done with a heavy load. Don't know why the silence, other than Formula doesn't tend to brag about top speeds. Maybe MadeItRain will chime in, but the altitude where he boats will definitely affect the numbers.

I do know that it delivered 1.2 mpg at 57 mph and 1 mpg at 80 mph. Nice.

That really is amazing. On a nice day I could run that 382 from here to Freeport/Lucaya in 45 minutes and use 80 gallons each way.:evilb:

I can't make it to Lake Powell to test it out, so my first spin in it won't be until the weekend of May 19th. I will report when I get back if anyone is interested.

I am looking forward to next week, and the first time out on the lake. Can't wait to take her for a spin! You are right I am definitely psyched!

Made It Rain 05-20-2012 11:12 AM

I have a short video of the first run. I didn't open it up all the way because of break in period. Hit 90 mph, 6 people on board, 3/4 tank fuel and 100 degrees.

I am trying to do a good job of breaking it in for you.

aquaforce 05-21-2012 07:04 PM

That is so awesome. I'm glad youtube doesn't limit how many times I watch the same video over and over and over. I could almost have an hour of time on this boat already. :lolhit: :lolhit: :lolhit:

What everyone else said, you must smile ear to ear pushing those sticks down. Will this Formula get the respect from some of the Cig guys now, Formula now has a 90+ floating condo.

Congrats

Congrats

GOD I hope it does..but those guys always have the BIG engine options that Formula won't touch...like twin 1150's that would push this boat WAY past 100. If I had the $$$$$$ to do it I probably would for the $hit of it.:evilb:

Seriously..90+ is very fast in my book for a production boat.

The GREAT thing about the Ilmor/Indy 725 combo is that you have awesome performance in a package that doesn't have the ridiculous maintenance/rebuild schedules that the 1150's and other BIG dollar high perf. engines have... Not to mention the MUCH improved fuel economy of the Ilmors!

anasazi 05-29-2012 12:49 PM

Very nice.
Definately a weekday on Sag.

fossil fuel 06-01-2012 11:46 PM

I am at 97 with 700 nxt's, you would think ilmores would do better than that! I think with herrings I could break 100. its not worth it to me for the 3 mph

I am going out again this weekend, and will open it up to see what it can do. It will be over 110 degrees so it will be harder to hit top speed. I hit 90 mph with 6 on board, and 3/4 tank fuel two weeks ago, but really didn't open it up all the way. This will be our second time out. I will let you know what happens.

That is exactly what I think too. Lighter engines with more power just seems like that 3mph is right there.

The new boat is doing great! I will be going to Newport Beach in September and can't wait to see how it performs at sea level and salt water.

I don't think it has the correct props and am doing a little research on different ones. Lake Powell is 3600' in elevation, and temperatures are in the low 100's and it hits the rev limiters (6500 RPM). At sea level it will have more power.

I will do a good flush and cleaning after the vacation is over so it will look good when you or Perfect Storm get it.

BONDO10 08-09-2012 03:45 PM

Perfect Storm just PM'd me. He ordered a new Purple Bayliner with twin Chrysler slant six's. So I guess the 382 is mine. Let us know how she runs in Newport. Good luck.
