I'm looking to upgrade the cockpit sound system in my 2000 382. I will probably go with an iPad and a bluetooth media receiver.

Most systems I've seen have 10" subs, has anyone tried fitting 12" subs forward facing under the rear bench? I measure 13" from cushion to floorboard so it would be tight.

The 6x9 factory locations aren't great, I was thinking about cutting some aluminum or stainless adapter plates to go to 6.5" components and mounting the tweeters up higher. Has anyone done this?

Anything else to consider on this boat?

Waves and wheels at the LOTO did mine this summer.
They put speakers in my rear trunk lid, along with speakers and tv systems throughout. The 382 has a ton of options. Check out www.wavesandwheels.net. There are pics of other Formulas and it should give you some cool ideas.

Bluetooth is terrible for high quality streaming audio. I could not stand to listen to it for any length of time.

Sound quality is much much better with USB connection to good head unit.

iPod touch is smaller and easier to deal with than iPad.
