400ss trailer requirements?
 

Anyone got any details? I have found a 38ft ez loader trailer rated at 15k lbs.

Wondering if it will work for my boat? I suspect it was used for a 38 fastec previously.

You're going to want at least 18k capacity, but 20 or 25 would be far better. The trailer manufacturer could tell you if it would be safe to simply upgrade the axles/hubs/springs/wheels/tires. Formula can tell you if the 382 and 400SS bottoms are close enough in shape. My feeling is that your search is not done...

Ditto. We have an Eagle trailer for the 419. Fully boxed with triple axle super singles. I'd say you want an 18k or so. Also note that you may have to consider bunks to accomodate the stepped hull.

Where are you hauling to/from? Is the boat on GLOC? If you aren't going to do it often, it'd be cheaper to pay someone to haul it.

Boat is on gloc. Hate paying trailer fees for repair work and feeling like I am limited on service company options.

I would also like to be able to tow it to loto or whatever if I get a wild hair.

I would strongly recommend having a trailer built or find one that was built for the 400ss. We recently built an aluminum 21,000lb Manning trailer for our boat.
When we purchased the boat the dealer had a 18,000lb trailer that we bought but was not designed for the Formula. We had to shim the outside bunks up but the problem was the axles were too far back for the weight of the bow this caused the trailer to deflect by several inches.
Keep in mind the boat weighs 15,500 dry and a steel tube trailer can weigh as much as 3500lbs.

I have a 20,000# steel trailer that had a 370ss on it and would handle a 400ss. Very little use been sitting at LOTO for the last 2 years

How much you looking to get for trailer,i have a 40ss wouldn't mind having a trailer for if the price is right,also if anyone has a trailer for this type of boat for boat yard use only i have several 45 excalibers,48 sunseekers 40ss that i work on but my forklift can't pick them up we now sub out a guy with a hydraulic trailer but he is limited to about 40ft

There was a 400SS trailer listed in the classifieds here last week. I don't know if it still is or not.
