Hope all is well Scott.

Thats funny..

All is good. An upgrade to a 419 is just a thought, and definitely a few years away.

See ya on KI..

I was thinking about this. I would keep the driveline engine and one of the closed couple engines. Sell the second close couple engine and drive (big market for that). Seems like that should be a easy sell. Gives you some money to kick off the next phase.

Then you have a driveline engine. Reconfigure the stringers and move it outboard 10". Move the other close couple engine in 10" (assuming 40" c to c to start with). Now you have a full stagger on 20" centers. You could test with those engines to work out the kinks without the big engines acquiring a bunch of test time. You could still run the 353 for that time also.

Once the setup is dialed in, swap the big engines in 419, others in the 353 and you are set.

See how easy that was. Just solved all your problems, take pictures so we can follow along on here. :coolcowboy:

All that extra space would leave me plenty of room for a killer stereo. Would probably need a guy to help me set that up. You know anyone??

Is that vintage 419 a liner boat? It's hard to tell from most pictures due to the engine room being packed.

Here is a 1998, it looks like its a stringer boat:

When Formula started the Fastech line in 97, the 419 got the steps but not the liner. They stopped production of the 419 after 2001. Formula's plywood grid system is very strong, just got to watch for water injestion, my 311 was getting soft before I sold it. The plywood is not as hardy as regular wood.

Theres not many 419 Fastech's on the market right now, I believe thats 1 of 2 out there. The other one is a 99, with 500efi's. Its in OSO's classifieds for 75k, nicer looking too.

I've had my eye on the red one in the classifieds for a while. Not quite ready to pull the trigger on a new boat but the 419 is really high on my list. The 98 with the arch actually doesn't look like too bad a boat, just not a fan of the colors or the arch. I'd rather have the 500 EFI's (I think?) versus the carb motors.

The red "99" here is nice. The only thing missing is a generator. bummer

Bingo. But, it would be a pretty strait forward install.

buy it before I do! I also have my eyes on it! saw it live and it is really clean !

Obviously I'm not the only one with 419 on the brain. The red '99 looks like a killer deal no matter what kind of plans someone has for it.

Too bad for me I'm not ready for an upgrade. Maybe some one will snatch it up for 75k now, keep it it great shape, and I can buy it from them in 2 or 3 yrs for even less.

I can only imagine the sticker on a 419 new.. Were talking 325k plus new, right? Not many articles on the 419 Fastech(i havent found any), but comparing it to the 353 tests with 500's and up(@225k +) the 419 had to have a pretty hefty sticker. Sucks that it depreciated so much. Well not for someone in the market now, I guess.

If no one snaps it up by mid summer, I am going to make a serious pass at it. We'll see.

Jeff, when did you see the boat? Some of the pics look older...

How is the headliner?
