I don't feel so bad about my 382 now. I only have 502's with no genset or ac and I run 70. Glad I did not spend all the money to upgrade for just a few mile an hour. Not to mention the reliability.

I do love the look of the 500's and the 525's though.

With 575's the best I got was 81.3 in cooler conditions and a steady 2' chop. With high humidity the best was 75. Once I installed my Whipple inner coolers, smaller pulley's and re-program, I was consistently seeing 79 in comparable high humidity conditions. At the end of last year, I installed Arneson drives (I am still dialing in) and I was seeing 84. 2012 should be an interesting year.

Some years ago I read an article by Teague and he stated the 382 hull doesn't come alive until 1,600 hp. In 2013, I might find this out.
