Yeah that is why the two 206's above caught my eye. Not to hijack but 88 you moving into something else?

Thanks for all the replies.

Still waiting for pics of the KC 206LS Boat.

It is owned by a boat mechanic who seems to know his stuff.

Claims it will do 70+ with the 454 motor he currently installed in it. It is non-stock.

Thats plenty of giddy-up for me.

It it true the 206s only have a 40 gal gas tank? Seems like a 454 would burn through that rather quickly at speed.

In '88 the 206 had a 43 gallon tank. If you stay in the cruise RPM's shouldn't be too bad but will use more than a small block 350MAG but think you will be going a bit faster. Good trade off in my book!
