Default 2005 353 forsale in NY

Does any one know this boats history?

The adds are a little misleading calling the drives Bravo1XR, and they look like just X's to me. 525's and the weight of a 353 seems like that would rough on just X's. Has anyone else seen that combo before?

Looks like a salt water boat to me.

The pics in the ebay link looks like the drives might have been raised up and actually hit the swim platform? Is that possible, I would think they would limit the drives from doing that.

The other ebay pic that looks odd is the Tach w/ the hour meter. The glass looks cloudy and scratched.

Im not really seeing where the boat is in poor shape? Looks pretty nice, gauges aren't brand new, the drives are touching the silent thunder box, not the actual platform, most remove it anyway

That looks like a good buy from what the pics show, I like the graphics. I would have the motors and exhaust checked with a good survey if you are really interested.

Take a look at the headers .... looks like they have been scorched at some point indicating there might have been some over heating issues at some point ..... just a thought ..... I could be wrong ..... definitely get survey done ....

The tie bars have not been installed adequately for clearance at the top of the mounting bolts. Either the bolts could be modified or adjust the drive switches. Some fiberglass/gel is scraped most likely from movement while traveling.
Survey, survey, survey!

Anyone have thoughts about the drives? I haven't seen 525s paired w/ a Bravo X before. Can I call Formula with the HIN and see how it was built?

This boat seems like a GREAT deal IF everything checks out... (!) Like Jeff & others have said, get a thorough survey done to check the motors/drives & exhaust.

Also, keep in mind that even IF the CMI headers check-out now, they are a KNOWN issue with these motors ( I believe from 2003 to early 2008) and will more than likely be a problem down the road... I had to replace mine last year with only 135 hrs. on a fresh-water only boat.

I hope it checks out for you... It's a great boat with sharp colors & graphics and I'm sure you will love it! Good luck!
