At anyrate, yeah that motor pushes that boat really well and the hull takes it no problem. I run consistently at 63gps and have seen 66 with a little tale wind.

Now I just have to build 2 of them and throw them in a 272 and I'll be pretty set for where I want to be!!!
The 320 EFI was available as a special order in '86...I had twin 320 EFI's in a '86 272 LS with Alpha SS drives. Built in the Miami Plant summer of '86. The boat ran 75 speedo with 23" cleavers at 5800~6000 RPM. it would run an easy 60 at 4500.

I think I still have the 1993 303 book. I'll check.

Default MPG difference

OK, this strikes me as odd. The 311 sheet and the 303 sheet are both Sr1's and both have twin 454 mags bravo's (365hp).

The 311 is 3" narrower but 150 lbs heavier and 2' 9" longer with the swim platform.

I would have thought the 303 would have gotten better "milage", but the numbers posted by formula do not show that. Best for the 311 is 2.1 mpg at 28 mph at 2500 rpm. The 303 was only 1.7 mpg.

The 311 was faster and more fuel efficient than a boat almost 3' shorter? Did they just screw that boat up?

Brian i think the hull design might have something to do with it. i think the 311 is more concave than the 303.
