Christi Insurance - I used progressive and Allstate for years.... and they literally blew them out of the water, full coverage on my 89' 242ss
The agent's name was Ryan Johnson, don't have his number at hand but his email was [email protected]
If you go that route, make sure you tell him Derek Gannon referred you!

I communicated with Stacey but they do not do boats this old. Sent me to someone else to look at Merkel. But he also quoted progressive and I was already in communications with them directly, so continued on that route.
For my 86 - 272 with agreed value of $12k for boat and trailer, it is $428 a year for everything.
Liability at 100/300/50 was $58 of it.
Comp and Collision was $306 with $1k deductable.
Rest is in towing, medical and uninsured boaters, trailer, road side assistance and such. Not bad.
Go to the website and put in your info, easy process. Originally I was going to go with just liability, but after sinking a few more grand into it, for the cost I went full coverage. main reason though is from one of Stacey's articles. If that thing sinks, it is not the money I am out. I could handle that. It is the money it would cost if they say it has to be recovered and cleaned up. That is what the insurance is really for after hearing some tow figures tossed around and what it cost to have a boat refloated and the fuel/oil cleaned or reclaimed. Ouch, would make my boat look cheap. So I now have wreckage removal on the policy.
