My 575 SCi head gasket went and burned across three cylinders and ruined the block not to mention the internals and head. My mechanic said he had never seen such damage and has done performance boats for many years! It was a racing motor and gave its all with the computer compensating until it blew. I only noticed a 150rpm decrease the day it happened. That could be attributed to anything and it was a hot humid day. Ran like a demon until the second it went. Could you have caught the problem? I would stick with reliability ESPECIALLY if you move out of it at some point in the next couple years. Sell your power or put it towards a set of 400hp 383's and call it a day. Will keep your market a little broader at sale time

WHat 383's are you guys talking about? The stroker motors? The 383 Magnum MPI's? Something else?
So Tim, what did you mean about the Fountain classifieds? Are you simply putting the motors back to stock and then looking for a larger boat? |
I'd be looking for a 353 with 500s or 525s. Not a fountain :(
