Default 3M Carbon fiber wrap?

Hey guys got the winter jitters here and have been thinking about wrapping the dash panels on the 242 and my be some new gauges. Has anyone used this and what do you think. I don`t mind the black dash just my be looking to offset all the black, I don`t want to turn it into a Baja or anything, just a joke. The 3M 1080 seems to be good and should be able to handle the sun.

If you guys have any pics lets see them or any other comments, I know it`s small budget but I just sent out my daughters second semester tuition

I was going to give this a go, I bought the carbon wrap and had it on the dash plate and it looked good (271 fastech) however on the round parts panel, it did not look that great because it wasn't as pliable as id hoped. if you really REALLY take your time in just lay it on the top and don't wrap it around the backside it will look good. I ended up just painting mine.

any of the guys who have either painted or put carbon fiber wrap on the dash panels have pics of how things turned out? Trying to decide how I want to re-do my 97 312 dash panels.
if you don't want to post on this forum you can email me pics directly at: [email protected]
Thanks

I am also very curious about this or any other recommended restoration to the dash panels... My 242ss appears to have sat in the sun quite a bit prior to my purchase because all the black plastic under the windshield has cracked in certain areas (this would be easily preventable if Formula had the cockpit cover wrap over the windshield like on my old 206ls instead of clipping to the top of window)..

Anyone else ever experience this? Any ideas how to restore it in some degree without replacing the whole helm...
