Default Props in or out

Not sure ... using 30p Labbed Prop, turning inside. Smooth water, trimmed to the max (have low water pickups) and it goes there. Not maximum fuel and driver only (wife hates that speed when her cheeks flap) Rough water I am in the 80's. My 28 Labbed Props top out just before 80 at rev limiter. My normal crusing spped on the lake that is most comfortable is 65 at 4100 rpm. I have a lot of hours now, so I get too crazy on holding max speeds because I am not ready to buy a couple of 600's yet. I might just rebuild and sell these 500's individually and install Ilmor 710's

No reason to buy 600s, your going faster with your HP 500s than with 600SCI. So you picked up over 10 MPH by switching props from 28s to 30s? I gotta get a set of them, what kind are they and who set them up for you? My order is going in after you reveal the source. Thanks for the info!

Default Props

I got 30 stocks from Formula with the boat ... and a friend working close with Merc got me 28 and 30's labbed for me at $600 each. The problem with the 28's was they blow you out of the water faster, hit rev limiter faster, but are slower. The labbed 30's come out of the water slower, make a howling noise, and get more top end.

I'm going to swap drives around this week and get some numbers on mine this weekend and see what it does.

I've turned my props both in and out. Picked up about 3 turning in, but docking was a real chore. No huge handling issues. A little less trim input turning in.

650hp per, boxes and -2" Sportmasters.

I call BS on the 500's running better then 80 too....Been at this a while.

No way that's right....they are not stock HP 500's in this case..... or the speedo is 10MPH off and that's a stretch!
