The boat will run faster with them spinning in (2-3) mph and in my view, a little better overall. Spinning out lifts the stern and pushes the bow down. Spinning in sucks the stern down, lifting the bow.

You will lose some handling around the dock as they cant leverage off each other as much as they can when spinning out. No question that docking becomes a little more difficult, especially in wind or I imagine, tide. I just dock it like it is a big single and all is good.

MY recommendation is to first swap the props as it costs you nothing and then give Bblades a call. They know their stuff.

You want 7-8 more mph.......your going into the engines to get it (or gutting the entire cabin to reduce weight).

All I can comment on is my own personal experience... My 382 has AC, Gen, Bravo drives / 525 SC motors that have been rebuilt and dyno 575 hp per side. Spinning labbed 28 p Bravo 1 four blades I have seen 80 mph on GPS at 5300 (best I have seen), and can run 77 - 78 mph any day. I am currently running a set of labbed (BBlades) 30 pitch bravo's which have improved my crusing speed to 55 mph at 3400/3500 rpm and no change in top speed other than I can only spin them to 4900 rpm.

As for spinning the props in, you loose the ability to spin the boat around when docking....it is like the two props fight each other when you put 1 in fwd and 1 in reverse. The boat just sits there and does nothing. Just my $0.02.

My 382 was already set up with Stellings and stock 28 Bravos spinning in. I really like the way it carries the nose and wake is flatter too. A little slower to respond in tight ares with windy conditions but can be anticipated/managed with some experience.

How much HP per side, and what speeds and RPM? I think you told me 540's and 83 MPH, but I don't remeber so go any more......

My engines are 510 c.i. Merlin blocks making 650 h.p. and 650 ft/lb. Running 85-86 mph @ 5400 rpm. I think there is a little more speed with labbed props, but I was never able to try out the labbed 28's I have from BBlades.

What will labbing my 28`s do? I was told top end of 2mph +/- s... does that seem realistic?

Typically you'll see about 2 mph on top end and no changes anywhere else.....it also makes the prop weaker and more likely to bend if it strikes something.

I own two 382's both fastech's. The 99 502's stock,26 Bravo ones labbed by b blades 70 gps. Props were turning in when I bought the boat. I couldn't back that thing into a slip for nothin'. Son in law was giving me a hard time I gave him the helm, he didn't have any more luck. Turned the wheels out, whole new boat. Not quite as fast but I know where it's going when I'm backing up. The 2000 600 Volvo's in front of Bravo XR's on Stelling's boxes I have only driven with props turning in. 28 Maximus labbed by t500hps, Gen & Air 78-80 gps. My 99 is for sale & a really nice boat!.

With my mono hull "in" is where they are and sounds like that is the best thing for this boat anyway. I'll be doomed at the dock for a while.:poopoo: I noticed how the boat moved so little compared to an "out" spinning 382. It is going to take me a while to figure a method for this "in" spin on my TRS.


I was wondering what I would get by spinning these TRS out and this posted info pretty much answers that. They will stay as is and I'll just have to deal with it.
