280 SS or 260 SS - 2000-2002 Vintage
Looking for a 280 or 260 SS. Was leaning to a 280 w t/350, but have the opertunity to by a 260.
What am I giving up in speed and ride? How bad is gas on the 280?
Anyone selling a nice 280 in the midwest? Looking for a 99-01, but maybe a 260?

I bought a 1998 280 ss last August in Loto. I live in Cleveland and looked around all summer for a good deal. Prices range from $19k to mid $30's. you need to do your research and find the deal. Don't jump on the first one you see. All around I love my 280. It doesn't burn as much fuel as you think. I have twin 350's. it cost me a shade under $500 to fill up. I put about $100 in every other week to top it off. I use it all week long just cruising & tubing around Lake Erie. Good luck and pm me with any question.

i can't find one anymore. Had a boat the week of the 4th, sold it last week and so did about 10 280's I was hoping to look at when mine sold. Singles are out there, but holding out for 350's if I go 280 but can get a 260 tomorrow with a 6.2 if I want.
Sounds great that u have one, the ones I see out there are $40k for the same year if they are freshwatrer. Amonth ago they were near $30k.

NEOhioFan and I were both looking at Sun Sports about this time last year. He got a 280, I got a 330, but had mostly looked at 280's. don't get a 280 w/ single engine. Impossible to sell. Also you will be much better off with a 280 versus a 260.
The lower priced boats may have all sold, but it your best bet would to wait out the market as the Fall market boats will be coming soon. Do your price guide checking on NADA and BUCValue so you have a good handle on the market. Keep in mind many asking prices are not what the boat should and will sell for.
Don't make a design in haste, the market will come to you.
