Default fuel gauge sending unit 311

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement sending unit for an 87 311? They are vdo and searching for them gets confusing.

The one on my 272 was replaced before I got it an isn't accurate, it reads from a quarter to 3 quarters on the gauge from empty to full and I don't want that.

I'd rather get a new one than a 25 year old take out because they always seem to have issues but would take one if it was known to work.

Thanks

If someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll check when I get home. I have the part numbers written down for the 357 and 311 senders.

Thanks for the quick response. I didn't know if part nos would help if they didn't make them anymore or didn't cross reference to something else? If you have it, it will be very helpful.

The part number you need to find is 224-066 I believe.

If you need one- I have one out of my 292, I'm sure its the same as a 311 sending unit. If you want it, you can have it for $30 plus the ride.

Is it 17.1 inches? (That is the dimension for the 311)

Mine is 15.5 inches. I looked up the difference between a 292 and a 311, and the 311 has a 15 gallon bigger tank.
