yeah I figure with kaamas on it which I may just go with or if I can get some info some x-dimensions or if I need to change anything on the bottom I would love to run hawks and ditch the transmissions. If I cant though I am leaning seriously to kaamas and bout 600 a side. I think with most the cabin galley and stuff gone and ditching the water tanks and the porta head the weight savings will definitely help.

There are probably 4-5 sets of kaamas out there for sale if you look, you can get both for cheaper than building 1 Blackhawk and it still won't be as strong, and props and steering brackets are hard to find. I use to have a Blackhawk and sold it because it didn't think it would live with more than 600hp even if I threw the max machine catalogue at it.you could easily have 10-15k in just the drives.(no transom assemblies, no steering, no props etc.) you might save 100lbs over Kaamas but thats the only advantage. Neat drive for a single, but really no advantage for a twin engine. A 302 with kaamas and 600s runs about 90

Actually with trannys the boat is a little better balanced they do tend to run more flat

The cockpit I'm keeping the cabin is mostly stripped already. But if Ya need the head of the tanks for them I will have those out before too long.

This thread is getting me PUMPED! I picked up a 311 last Summer...420/TRS deal. We are currently building all new 572's with Konrad Drives. Anyone on here have such a combo? These are going to be "serious" motors...10.4 compression, Hyd. Roller cams, Edelbrock 356 Rec Port Alum heads, Quick Fuel 1050 Dominators, SS headers.....will we see 100???
