Looks Great!

How much of a pia was it?

The upper rail is peeling badly on my 292. Mainly where I rest my arm. I've decided that I'm going to disassemble just the top rail and re-paint in the off-season. Figure it will be easier then pulling the entire frame and glass off since anyone I've spoken to that has done it says they would never do it again. I believe I counted and its just 12 screws holding it in place.

Honestly I didn't think it was that bad at all. Not to much holding it on. Take pics of everything and use wd40 to slide the gaskets/glass back together. I would do it again no problem. The base of my frame was only screwed down no nuts and bolts at all..maybe that's why it went easier for me

Not a Fornula, but I had mine cut down and painted to match boat graphics. I think it looks ALOT better. It's your boat, paint it your way!

I sent a couple pieces out for paint that were peeling badly that I just got back yesterday. I think my guy did a good job of matching the color, but he cleared them. I'm all for shinny, but the rest of the windshield is a flat or matte finish. Looks like I'll just have some taping and painting to do, at least its clear.

How well does the paint hold up to the abuse of a cover going down the highway???

I tow sometimes with the cockpit cover on. It has a cotton lining where it toches the paint and or gel. It hasn't caused any problems so far.

I did have to have a new cover made when I cut the windshield down, and it is quite a bit nicer than the factory cover.

Ya I gotta figure out something. Might paint it and then put those swim noodles over the frame when the covers on the boat...cause I tow with the cover on mainly...

The cover was not the cause of my paint peeling. I rest my forearm on the frame when idling and right where I put it just wore away.
