2001 Formula 419 in NY area, Torch graphics does 104 mph?????
 

Any of you guys in the NY area know this boat or know who owns it? A 2001 419 that does 104 MPH? It is listed by a broker for sale and I am curious if I can beat the bushes here and scare up any info on it.
It just seems to me that a boat performing on this level would be well known and someone may know of it here. No small thing to run triple digits in a triple engine production boat. Either it is not that fast or someone really put some coin in power.

That is more of what I hope it is too. They would be easy engines to maintain and something that could hit 104 would probably be toooo much work and money to keep going. I want a happy medium to stay on the water with.


If something like quad rotors were installed on each engine then there is 104 but that is not what I'm after. The B1's would be toast too.

I have a 1999 419 Fastech with triple 500 EFI's, best speed is about 83 mph, light fuel load, no water, 2 person on board, and 1 1/2' chop on a windy day. It will run 75 mph all day loaded, but I usually cruise at about 45 mph. The only way that boat hits 104 mph is with at least trip 700 SCI or behind a truck. The 419 is a heavy hull, but really smooth in all kinds of water.

That is the kind of performance I would expect. Interesting that the 419 with this power can break 80 and the 382 with this power is still mid 70's.
I like the "really smooth" aspect of the 419 and that is why we are after one. I am not really after some speed but the 419 is a little faster.

Right. In comparison the 419 is bigger and heavier and it would seem like it really needs a third engine but since it is so much faster than the 382 with the twins of the same power I think it demonstrates the efficiency of the 419 more than the need of another power source.

I bet in the real world, there is about 3-4 mph difference between the two boats with same engine package.

Always thought a 419 with twin 1000 hp/side and #6 drives would be the ultimate offshore ...

I used to think that way too, until I was on a red Nortech 43V last summer with twin 700's and #6's...... You going to get your boat out this year Chris? How about showing up at Boyne Thunder with it?
