Default 400SS weight on trailer

Has anyone who trailers a 400SS ever weighed it on the trailer?

No, but I can tell it will not be fun at all towing it with a 3/4 ton GMC. Minimum 1 ton dually territory there, really should have a 4500 or 5500.

Should be about 21k on a steel trailer. My buddy has one and is bringing it to Cumberland next week. Guy hauling will be stopping at scales so we will know exact weight next week

Also his is 13' 4" high without the radar and almost 11 feet wide so you need a wide load permit

Thanks. I have a storage guy with a bigger, manlier truck to do the hauling. In the past I've had the storage guy drop the boat and trailer at the marina parking lot so I can work on it, then I launch it, retrieve it and leave it there for him to haul again.

Kinda wondered if I wanted to launch and retrieve a 400SS on a gooseneck trailer with the Denali.

If you have a real good launch that is not too steep you could probably pull it off. That's what low range is for lol. I pulled a buddies Sea Ray out that was full of fuel and sinking due to a failed stringer, so it had to be 16-17k with the water and my 3/4 Cummins pulled her out. Turbo sounded like a jet engine lol because I was in such a hurry I forgot to use low range

I'm not familiar with truck sizes in the U.S. but if you attempt to tow with a Suburban 2500, you'll look something like this.....(thread page 60, post number 1189).

The guy was criticized by a couple for being overweight but he did explain his towing habits in the post.

Holy Crap! That sure is a whole lotta boat on a trailer, makes the Suburban look tiny.
