I've been around these boats for 15+ years, and I would not buy that boat without a survey unless it was $2500.
(Why $2500? Because you could part it out and that's the LEAST you would make.) The boat has bottom paint. That means at some point, someone thought it was AOK to leave it in the water for "some time." The trailer is also too short for the boat, which also raises a big flag for me on hook in the aft section of the hull. |

That boat isn't an 87, and for that much money is keep looking into other options

My Formula 242 had a rotted transom. I would not let a transom be a deal breaker. It cost me $400 and about 30 hours of work. But don't pay rot free price for a rotted boat.
Such is why having a professional do the work is important. 30 hours of a professional's time: BIG bucks. I bought an older boat sight unseen that had been "hardly used & stored inside for decades." The transom appeared solid when I took delivery, and even when we took the outboard off to mount a jack-plate; nothing presented as a problem. The first trip out only lasted 30 minutes before the transom cracked, and I was worried about losing the motor in the lake! Thank goodness we put some aluminum backer plates in when we installed the jackplate. Come to find out, there were some inadequacies in how the boat was built in the first place. Lesson learned. |

Now I'm a little hesitant to buy it haha and unlimited.. You said it's not an 87?? What year do you think it is? And why don't you think it's an 87?? Anyway I can check to see what year it is besides the title or registration?

Should be a serial number stamped into the transom that shows the year.

In my opinion, it's a 6k boat of it checks out.

Bravo drives weren't out until late 1988, it may have been swapped but I doubt it, and the windshield would've been flat glass on an 87 formula. That one looks like an 89.
