Thanks for the warm welcome! I am in the process of cleaning up a couple loose ends on the boat that bothered me. I removed the platform to reseal it and the through hulls, the K-planes to strip and powder coat, both intakes, risers and valve covers, and the mechanical indicator cables. Going to change the intakes to new Holley Strip Dominators due to corrosion on the old ones and having the valve covers striped and powder coated along with the new intakes before they go on. I'm also replacing and re-rigging the cables for the stainless marine heads up indicators. Probably going to re gel the transom while the silent thunder is off. It has some paint work on it from the previous owner that would look better if fixed correctly. Blckkat, the trailer towed stable on the 5 hour trip, but you are correct in thinking it could use 200-300 lbs tongue weight.

Very nice! I dig that color combination. I bet that rig will move with a pair of 420s in it. Goodluck with the long awaiting off season.

I would shoot for at least 500# on the tongue...especially with twin Big Blocks in the tail end. I have twin Small Blocks and Bravo's in my 255 and 500# works out perfect for me. I figure with boat loaded with fuel + trailer I am at about 7000#~ 7500#...my rig tracks perfectly. I previously tried it at 300# and it was "squirrely" at times on the highway...500# is the sweet spot.

Yes sir, agreed, I had meant an additional 200-300 lbs over what it has now.

For those that asked I live in Lakeville, MA and boat mainly in the Taunton river and Mount hope bay. I also boat on Long Lake in Maine for a week each Summer when we rent a lake house on the west shore in Bridgton.
