Seadek?
#22
I was also looking into the Seadek and was wondering about sticking them to the swim platform. I called them and they said I needed to chew it up with a scotchbright pad, or sand it to get good adhesion over the build in texture of the platform. I decided to hold off on doing anything due to the fact that I did not want to wreck the gelgoat, or risk the pads coming off. On top of this, they did not have a template for my boat and I didn't want to take the responsibility for the design. Too many variables for them to bow out of any kind of warrantee.

I have seadeck on my 03 Baja 302 integrated swim platform and extended swim platform. Zero issues and love the product. Even put it on top of my Yeti cooler for people to sit on!! Product has been on my boat for 2-3 years now. Boat not stored at marina...sits on trailer and extended swim platform is not covered and out in elements. held up fine for me and would recommend. I paid around $300 for the swim platform pad....my only complaint was time it takes to manufacture it for your boat (4-6 weeks).

I've had it on my platform since Mid-May.
The installer said it's key that the surface is clean and warm when installed.
He said there's no issue with it sticking once a week or so has passed.
It looks great, it feels great, I hope it lasts.

I had some concerns with mine as stated earlier. I talked with their customer service and here is the response I received back after spending almost $900 on mt swim platform.
"We are sorry you are having issues with the pads. We have found that when there is a more aggressive non-skid surface that there may be issues with adherence of the pad. When this happens it may leave the pad susceptible to water and debri getting under the pad weakening the adhesion. Since we are unable to ensure that debris did not get onto the pad during installation, unless the install is done by us directly, we are unable to warranty the pads for adhesion."
During the install, I followed the directions to the letter and made certain there was no wax or any debris of any kind. I cleaned it with acetone and then alcohol to ensure proper adhesion.
If you have a perfectly flat surface, this would be a good product.
Just my $0.02.
