Turning at cruise. 35~39 fairly decent turns. Remember 90% of my boating is in creeks and rivers so I turn a lot. The revo is quite awesome at it

As to the original question . . . my thoughts since, I had a 242.

You added 5% more pitch and 1 blade to the prop . . got about 8% reduction in RPM and 4% reduction in speed. Overall not bad, and to be expected.

If you want the additional speed, you already have a prop to get you there ( the 22P). If you want the hole shot and lower planing speed, then a 21P 4 blade might be ideal.

to follow up on this, i did have my B1 labbed by BBLADES last year and it's the freakin' business. highly recommend.

I wanted to chime in for anyone else is looking at swapping props. My 89 242 SS with a fresh 330HP 7.4L ran 52 MPH @ 4400 RPM with the stock 21P Mirage and Bravo drive. Slow to plane and would fall off below 2800 RPM with a full tank and 4 people. Tried a 19P Rev 4 and had way better hole shot, cruise, and stayed on plane at 2500 RPM. Top speed dropped to 50 with same RPM. Seemed like it needed more prop as I didn't really gain speed from 4000- 4400.
With a 21P Rev 4, I have seen 53 MPH (light on fuel, solo, 2' chop) only spins to 4200 RPM though. Cruise is nice at 35 knots @ 3500 RPM. Need more power now :)
I feel the 4 blade Rev 4 prop is a big improvement over the stock 3 blade Mirage in all aspects with no noticeable impact to top speed.

Still in the RPM range of the 330, too. That's a nice upgrade.

Have heard of similar regarding the Rev 4 on the bigger twin engine boats with deep drives. I considered them for my 311 but didn't want to risk issues with the lower unit (TRS doesn't like 4-blade props though the Rev 4 might let it slip just enough - boat's for sale so I'll let someone else deal with that).
