Default Man I like my 242

Coming from a 97 250 Sundancer. Bought a 86 242LS. 260/Alpha. Anyway the kids never come with us and it was a pain to winterize. I was in 2’ chop yesterday on Saginaw bay and I was cruising at 3,000 rpm at 30 mph. (GPS) smooth ride, my DA pounded hard if I would try that, great handling boat, lovin it.

I went from a 32' Carver to my 242ss...i love this boat, albeit a tad smaller than what i'm used to...but it's able to handle the chop just fine!

I grew up in offshore fishing boats. Family has had wellcraft, sea safe, sea craft, sea hunt, numerous contenders. I wanted a formula, if I fish I'll go with them. I love pounding waves in the formula. It's a whole different ballgame.

One thing Formula has always done is split the sh/t. I love coming through the inlet slop an blowing by one of those 90 mph flats boats while everybody in it is trying to keep the cooler from flying out. You guys are all hooked... see you in rehab.

After my 1st Formula in 1984 never considered anything else (except 19' flat-bottom drag boats).
re: rehab, I've been working on stage 1 since my first Formula.

Nothing like a bird regardless of its size.

Enjoy all,

I'm still missing a lot of the functionality of the cruiser style boat.

After a few short weeks of owning the 242ss, i'm already looking to upgrade! The 272ss and 351 look fun, but i'm hoping to get into a 330 or 400SS.

I think they're the perfect boat!

I'd love a 311. Just dont love the headache of twins and no room to work on them.

I swore i would never own a boat WITHOUT twins!

I can see i won't love how close they are together. My last two boats had more room in the engine compartment than my 242 has on the deck! LOL
