I don’t think the boat should ever have come equipped with less that 400 hp. I had a stock 502 mag in mine before the new motor. Boat ran 50 on the primaries and 61 wide open in glassy water. Very fun and safe/stable. It’s the 500 ft/lbs. of torque that you will never regret. These boats are heavy and a 502 will push it around without breaking a sweat. The first time some Chaperal bow rider that weighs 3000 comes around you you’re going to kick your own ars for not putting in the ponies. JMO

What do you know? You can barley break 80 mph in your 242!
