353 engine hatch weight

353 engine hatch weight
I need to remove the hatch, anybody know how much it weighs? Boats on the trailer and I was hoping to remove on the driveway. Maybe remove pad first to lighten.

I would say the hatch on my 271 fastech should be around the same weight . It is around 150-200 lbs but the problem is lifting it over your head to remove and install while it is sitting on the trailer. I had 4 guys and it is no problem. If you have a hoist to remove the engines , just use the same hoist and straps to remove the hatch. Jeff Wurl
