My batteries died on my 89 272 SR1. I tried finding a thread for some type of hatch release but couldn’t find one. I can open the hatch 6” by hand but I’m too big to fit in there lol. Any suggestions? And once the batteries are out how do i get it to go back down?

One thing I always like about Baja boats is the remote battery terminals, typically under the seat. Years ago I had an actuator die and once fixed (by literally ripping it out of the floor), I put a quick-release pin in, ran the ripcord out the side to a convenient spot. Now if it jams or fails, I can simply pull the pin.

lol, well...you can see the diamond plate I put down AFTER I had to rebuild the floor with wood and 'glass. I've had the 208 since new in '92, and it occurred to me then that I'd be fawked if the actuator failed, so I called Baja (when they were still in business in Bucyrus) and the ran me around until some guy from the floor came on the phone and said, "Well..I guess you have to pull the piano hinge in the hatch...", to which I replied, "Ah...but there is no access to the hinge pin as the top of the hull sweeps up and hides it.". And he went, "oh...uh...wow...don't know then...".
