Please stay AWAY from the Gulf coast with those bad boys!!! :-)
Can't wait to hear them sing. |
Can’t wait to see it all together.

My 89 272 ran 84mph with 650hp 540's.
late model bravo 1's @5600 RPM. bravo 1 props/Hydromotive 27's labbed. Mopower ran 85/86mph same setup. 292SR-1 should run close to/or a bit better numbers. Hull is better balanced than 272. 272 was very short and butt heavy for BBC setups. once you get past 78-80 the Hull is above stabilization pads. 3"flat section at outer most of V bottom. so it will chine walk a bit. if it gets to walking, let off throttle enough to stabilize Hull, then throttle up. OR drop a trim tab enough to lay Hull on one side of V to stabilize it. then raise tab as you get past chine walk |
I’m hoping to get 85 out of it as well a cruise at 50-55 at 3500rpms we shall see

How the hell did I miss this thread?!
Eager to see the finished product. I have similar builds, 509s, AFR heads, etc. Can you upload pics of the notch? A few of us know a guy in NJ with a notched-transom 311. Engines are also raised to change the X-dimension. The boat runs in the mid 90s with 625 a side (might be 650 a side). |
Any updates?
