Thanks Fever Mike, I can't believe that no formula owners have any response. Does this mean that the boat is not good!!

Default LOVE my 382!

Bought it for comfort - A/C, GenSet, hot water, TV/VCR, etc., etc., etc., and have done lots of cruising and overnighters with it, including a 10-day trip all the way around Chesapeake Bay. Other than a little short on headroom, the cabin is as comfortable as they get (UltraLeather - mmmmmmm). Mine has 600 Volvos and will run in the high 70's with a full load of fuel on a very hot and muggy day. 500 Mercs will probably be as fast or faster, especially if you have standoff boxes.

Handling/ride? - certified wave-smashers (No problem).
Are you looking at the ones at Trenton Marine?

Thanks guys for your thoughts. C_spray will she break 80 with a lite load of fuel? The two I'm looking at is in AZ and CA. The ones at TM are not poker run edtions. I like the faring and straight exhaust out the back with boxes.

Great wave crusher with an awsome cabin. Best thing about a formula beside the reliability is a cabin you can use in style and comfort. As long as you don't buy impulsiv you will never go wrong.

Baja 27 I think you will se 80 out of a poker run edition with the 500efi's and boxes no problem.

Default Poker Run Editions

Isn't it true that the Poker Run Editions have no cabin? If so, I would think that they would be 4-5 mph's faster due to a much lighter weight.

Craig

ps. I think FullTilt marine had one for sale w/500's for 99,000

Baja 27

You will find Formula very accomodating in the comfort dept. My 2000 382 is fully loaded with Gen Set. It runs mid 70's all day long and is very friendly on you and the passengers when out in the chop.

Like Troutly said they are HEAVY, my buddies 382 has TCM 800's and only hits 100mph on a good day. So unless you have alot of spare change to go fast, buy it for comfort not speed

If you can afford it try to move to an 01 and get the 5 year warranty.
