The complete 382 thread
I don't think this has been done yet and I think it would be interesting to anyone doing research, I'm starting a thread for each model boat. I'm hoping they will be the complete "guide" to each model. What I'd like to see in it is hard facts about this model only,(length, beam, available power, years produced, numbers produced, colors, pictures, weights, pricing for different years.)
I'd like to keep out the shopping questions. But feel free to put in comments about likes and dislikes, common problems, and results with different power packages. As time permits, I'll troll through old posts and add info collected through the years. If I didn't start a thread for a model you want to see, start one up with the right subject name. Thanks in advance, Dave |

Dislikes....current prop slip issues and the exhaust is too damn loud for up here. Gotta get those issues resolved. Overall, nice boat :) Hot Water |

2000 model, 600 hp Innovation/"Volvo" engines, DPX-A drives, A/C, generator, hot/cold water, TV/VCR, bimini top, cockpit carpeting, cockpit and full covers. Added Icom M45 VHF and Garmin GPS 2010C (big 10") chartplotter myself. We usually cruise at 3900-4000 rpm/55-60 mph, and our best speed so far with a full load is 78.7.
Boat's official name is "Me, Too!", but Troutly has dubbed it "The Refrigerator": |
Troutly, What kind of mufflers are on yours? I have a set of almost new Corsas I took of my new 382. How is your top speed 76 gps?

Also, Tell me about your slow speed prop slipping. I have the same problem with my 382 with stellings.

Is anybody having any port listing while running with a 382. I have an 03 with 575's and ITS and the boat leans to the left and feels like there is a drag on that side. Also know of another 03 with 575's and no boxes doing the same thing in my boating area. Both our boats are loaded with a gen.,ac, etc. It is a very annoying feeling while cruising along!!! I don't feel this is right, my dealer agrees.

I cruise at about 42-43 MPH at 3500 RPM with drives less then 2 and tabs at 8.5 to keep the bow steady.
TABS AT 8.5, I DIDN'T KNOW FORMULA MADE A SUBMARINE Just had to harass you a little, good luck with the fine tuning. I'd expect when you are done you will probably be in the eighties  Just remembered when my buddy bought his 2002 382 with 575's and stellings he had a bad prop slip also. He never resolved that issue, he sold the new 575's and put in Teague 800's and dialed in from there |
