Little one is a 1987 F-206. I went to the factory in 1986 trying to talk them into all kinds of ridiculous things like a big block, entirely black gelcoat hull sides, hull bottom and deck (they actually did that in 82 and 83), different interior colors than the catalog offerings and of course a #3 imron. "No, no, no, and what don't you understand about no?", was the answer. Well the #3 imron "No" was almost a deal breaker for me and even my dealer was pretty pissed about it. Formula didn't want to trivialize the semi-custom work they did on the 242's and up by putting it on their runabout I guess. Wouldn't even take my $2187.00 that they charged to put imron on a 242 or 272. We put our heads together with the dealer and they put me in touch with the fellow that had been repairing and touching up the dealers bigger boats with imron (when someone decided to take down a piling while pulling into a slip or something). Three and a half weeks after the boat came in on the hauler they delivered to me the only F206 that had imron done on it. The painter only charged me $1200.00 Of course by then a couple of Formula big wigs had heard about this project from the dealer and they sent the regional sales guy and the then corporate sales manager, Glen Conkling, out to the dealer to take a look at it before I picked it up. Some pics were taken back to the factory and lo and behold the F-206 had imron paint options the following year. What's with that? Anyhow, this boat has been great. Not one stress crack. And even with the ZZ4 it really gets good gas mileage, especially considering it runs at near wide open throttle all the time. Don't know what my problem is when I get in that boat but I love going nuts in it.
So Cuda, after seeing the pics of Poorsche's 357 I'm thinking... outboard bracket, 4 merc 250's, and a tuna tower like that for the ole F402. Funny how the front quarter shot and the rear quarter shot shows how that tower can slide forward and back on the boat. What an excellent option! Poorsche, is that for weight distribution or what? You Florida guys have all the cool fishing gear.

The Radar Arch was enough for me--the tuna tower is on a boat right next to mine on the adjacent work rack.
I went a little nutzoid with electronics so the radar and did some fishing (but not a tower) in the Redneck Riviera (Koonass Kancun) when I lived up there.

Alj, seeing a 206 is what got me started down this road of lunacy. I was coming in from fishing in my CC, heading straight into a stiff chop. I saw this boat go flying by me, just slicing through the water. When I got to the boat launch, I went over to see what it was. It was a 206. I had never seen a boat that size ride so well in a chop. I had to have one. Instead, I started of with an F20 SC. I wasn't sure I'd like this kind of boating, so I didn't want to get off the amount of money that a 206 was commanding. I'm pretty sure the F20 and the 206 have the same hull.

Cuda,
I had a wellcraft 180xl and all the buzz in 1986 and 1987 was the "mini-offshore" boats. Scarab 1, F206, Velocity, Chapparel, etc. Formula got Powerboat mags boat of the year for the 206. Compared them all but had to have the Formula. Time truly has shined well on my 206 as well as all our old birds. The design really doesn't age poorly. Don't think you can say the same for some of the other manufacturers. This thing really handles rough water extremely well but I'm not 28 years young any more. Ridden in too many big boats not to prefer a less bouncy ride. The 206 is a kick though. Holeshot is great and it is surprisingly fast. It gets a little kinky though as you approach 70mph. Not much hull in the water at that point. But truly a blast.
