I've got a 95 with carb HP500's (one needs a refresh) and best I've seen was 72 and change on GPS. I called Formula's TAG line and they said in 95 they were claiming 74 WOT on the HP500's. I'm running labbed 23 Mirages with 1.36:1 drives.

I'd guess around 60 also for the 330's.

What is the Formula TAG number?

When I bought my 35 Sonic it had 454/330's in it and the best it would do was 60 on gps. It just wasn't enough, I swapped out the motors with newer 454 Mag MPI's and the boat felt like it "woke" up - ran 68 with the Mags.

Speed isn't at the top of my list when looking for a performance boat, however 60 was just too slow. If you are like me, as long as it runs somewhere between 65 - 70, I think that is respectable - especially with a well built boat that rides well in the rough and has lots of amenities.

Sorry, should have thrown that in the original post.

I also think it would be underpowered, and it will be tough to move when you go to sell.

Just checked today. good news. Boat has 454 mags not 7.4's as the boat dealer thought. That is good for as least 35hp more per engine and much better internals. Probably does not represent much more top end but definitely the right direction.
