dawiz74- how are those rascals "mounted"? I thought about having a bracket made that would allow for the box to hang under the seat . . . then i thought better of it. Tell me how you did it.

SeaWeasel - I made some brackets from some 1" flat galvanized steel. I just bent them with a bench vise to fit the boxes I made. I bolted them to the steel tubing under the bolsters. It was an easy install and they seem to be pretty solid, but I don't boat in any really rough water.

That's pretty trick looking, nice job on the boxes. But, if I did that, I'd lose my cooler space under the seat.

Dawiz- that is pretty cool. I am thinking about doing that with my subs now. What have you got for box materials there?

I actually bought some of those white laminated partical board shelves from Lowes. Probably not "rot" resistant, but not too worried about that. You might have to buy something a little thicker and stronger for subs. At first I wasn't going to cover them, so thats why I bought the white shelves. After I built the boxes they looked pretty bad, so I covered them with the marine vinyl with a little padding. Got the 1" metal for the brackets at Ace Hardware, but I think Lowes also has it. Finally, the end pieces are 1/8" plexiglass painted (on the inside). I'm no audio expert, but they sound really good to me. My 6x9's are Soundstreams (the old, good ones) powered by a 4 channel Soundstream amp. I have a 10" sub box that I take out of my car and put in the cabin. Everything else is stock. Probably more info than you wanted!
