find out Monday ...motor is back out and they want to go into the bottom end ....nobody I have talked to can tell me how a bad bottom end can cause Valve to kiss piston ..they think I'm paying them for pulling the motor back out ....could get ugly ...

I been working on motors since my first little Honda 50 Super Sport. I don't see what could go on in the bottom that would cause a piston to kiss a valve. My gut feeling is that the shop that screwed your motor up is just trying to cloud the whole issue to cover their azz.
IF you wrote a check, I'd seriously consider stopping payment on it.
Like has already been said, they only repaired the result, not the problem.
In my first Formula, a 242 with twin small blocks, I had a motor blow. A shop repaired it. I got it back, launched it, and didn't make it 200 yards before it blew again. Took it back and they ended up getting a new long block. They tried to charge me all over again, so I just smiled and wrote a check to get my boat out of their facility. Went straight to the bank and stopped payment on the check. They took me to court and the Judge threw it out after ten minutes. I wasn't about to pay twice for the same issue. The Judge agreed.
