Hey Outlaw - Hydromotive?
Formula Outlaw,
A while ago we discussed your Hydromotives on your 311. I have a 311 also, bone stock. Which ones did you get, QIV? I want to get the exact model you got since they worked so well for you.
Let me know what you run and where you bought them. I'm seeing like $525.00 each. Like to get that price down some. $1100.00 makes my discharge shute tighten up a bit!!
Any way, lets go through your performance gains again.
THANKS,
Dave

Third, here is what I got from the prop swap.
First: boat came with 23 inch Mirage three blade props
89 311 SR-1/ 454 mags, Bravo 1's
After extensive phone conversation with the guys at Hydromotive, they told me what to expect, here is what I saw on GPS.
I went with the 24 inch Hydromotive Quad IV's.
At cruise speed, 3300 rpms give or take, I saw 6/7 mph increase. At WOT I saw a 3 mph increase.
The Hydromotives lifted the ass of my boat higher out of the water which created much less drag hence, the higher speeds. Going up an inch in pitch helped too. Usually when you go from a 3 blade to a 4 blade you drop two inches but in my case, because of the reduced drag it enabled me to go up an inch. It just jumps up on plane effortlessly and will stay up on plane at slower speeds now also, without trim tabs down.
Try "Throttle Up" they are an advertiser here on OSO.
I'd also call Hydromotive just to see if the new props might help even more. My props are three years old now. Wouldn't hurt to call.
I paid a little over nine hundred for mine three years ago. Keep me posted. Russ

"Off" don't feel like you're alone. Thought I'd finally gotten all my problems worked out and now I have to replace the manifolds and risers on both motors. Sometimes it seems like it just never ends (which by the way my wife reminds me of at least 47 times per day.) Looks like my new motors are going to have to wait another year. Oh well, I'd be thrilled just to get it back on the water. I'm about at the point to hook it up to the truck, have my wife drive me around town just to say "I went boating".

offthefront,
Ditto above. Just found out I have twisted vertical and prop shafts in the lower half of one of my drives (probably from the guy with the 950 H.P. blower motors that had it before me). And you know if one is bad, the other is probably bad, too! I can't really say I'm surprised, though. This is going to be expensive!
