Default looks like smoke from the exhaust?

I noticed this weekend that after running my boat for about 30 minutes there appeared to be smoke coming from the silent thunder. I remember that my dads Carver did this and it had something to do with the exhaust and the water, steam or something. The water temp was approx. 70 and the outside temp was around 70-75 degrees. My temp guage was just under 180, is this high considering I was averaging around 4000rpm?

You will see some steam coming from the exhaust or it could be the drives when they enter back into the water if you don't have drive showers, I have a 312 that the temp guages run at 180 with 175 thermostats, that is normal, Jeff

Personally I would make sure your see water pumps are ok. Mine did that when there was not enough water going through the engine.
