That's a big "For Sure" on the hoppers!!

Just in case you didn't notice...that's not at Hutchinson's boat house. The boat is still in Kentucky with hopes to have it here in time for the Cruise. I like the radar arch as well (must be a cruiser behind it) ha ha.

I'm not in charge of the departure time, I think Ripem is. I'm sure he'll chime in to let us all know.

BTW Third, the "little guy" is a friend of ours at Hutchinson's who's been breaking our balls about Formulas. When you meet him you will know why he's the little guy. Don't take that any further....yet.

We'd like to join you for dinner and a cocktail Friday night if that's alright? Maybe we can all gather for dinner and drinks? That'd be cool as well. I can fire up the Machine the night before. (like I don't do that already!)

All for now,
Dave

As long as Friday dinner ain't at Cavalloro's, I'm in. I still can't look at a chicken wing and that was last June. (need rips puking smiley)

Sure, we can try to hook up for vittles and cocktails, sounds good. Throw out some suggestions for good places. We're pretty easy to please.

It's Sat. morning...RaggedEdge and I are getting our chit together here at my place, looking to hit the road. Lake Cumberland here we come! :) Should be outta here within the hour or so. Piling in the D-Maxer looking to do the 14 hours down in 12 hours. Should be back Monday afternoon, I haven't towed my 353 with this truck yet...we're gonna break it in towing the Fountain the 1000 miles back here. All this so Peter can go on our run with a non-Formula. I must be

Whats shakin guys??? Only a few days till our little get-together. Everybody still on for Saturday? Got another participant. Guy from Oswego with a 382, it's for sale too. 2002 with 200 hours and every Formula option available including air and gen set. 175k. He's got a new 400 SS on order!!!

Gonna go check the weather for Sat. Hope it's good.

Dave

Re: 1000 Islands Formula Cruise

Formula 400 SS, isn't that what was stuck in the channel accross from Abay last week? I helped dock a 382 in Oswego the night of the fireworks but I thought he was from Fair Haven. I found a little history on the Formula Bird, turns out it was actually an enraged Flamingo when he got his first look at the Palm Beach graphics package. Third, save your bird sticker, Axa's missin' a wing on one side. Rip, you'll be proud to know that I am backin' up like a pro, thanks for the help. That reminds me I need to pick up more fenders and covers this week. (yes, it appears we'll all have covers now)

Well...the trailer didn't shake before that tire blew apart at 2 a.m. Home safely, but not without incident. 1923 miles round trip. Drove both ways straight, only fuel and trailer maintenence stops. The D-Max performed excellent. Looking forward to Saturday!!! :)

BTW RaggedEdge...those fiberglass fender prices are kinda scary, might have to continue to go with the duct tape! :D

Did the boat get biffed when the tire blew????? Hope not.

We should swap some cell numbers so we can coordinate up there, don't you think. We do it via PM so they're not braoadcast all over the net.

Re: 1000 Islands Formula Cruise

Well, my weekend plans are in extreme jeopardy. The nuclear plant where I work is shutting down as of right now (5:30 pm) for some unplanned and unwelcome repairs. When we shut down, it's a big deal. Lots of revenue is lost and we need to get back on line ASAP. So,,,,,,,, that means a lot of us who work here will be supporting this outage,,,,,,,, including me.

If we do not get our immediate problem fixed by 05:00 (that's 5 in the morning for you non-military types), we will be off-line for approximately 5 days to do this repair and other nice-to-do stuff. So, I'm pretty much screwed for the upcoming weekend.

Now, all you non-nukers out there, don't get your panties all bunched up. We're not melting down, we're not blowing up, we're not irradiating the environment. We have a very restrictive operating license (as all nuke plants do and should). We fix even the most insignificant of problems around here or we don't run.

This place makes my personal planning very difficult at times but, it pays me well :) . So, have a few for me and we'll hook up some other time.

Dave

Third, Will the really hot water get to the St Lawrence by the weekend? We didn't know you were a Homer Simpson nuke control room guy. You can be sure I'll be drivin' a little quicker by the stack knowin' you're in the office. It does suck that you won't be able to make it. Check your calendar for the 26th - 29th, the North East Donzi Club has a 4 day event at the Edgewood and we don't discriminate. And Donzi has thongs :D :drink: :D

How about the "lucky you" on the zipper seam?

Very sorry to hear you may not make it. :(
Will any others you told come up?

Yes, unfortunately there are like three small scratches from the tire incident. Could have been much worse... I cleaned all the hot rubber off the side of the boat with Mequires (sp) detailer at the regroup and assess the damage stop shortly after...

Covers are a good thing...even better if you keep them clean. ;)

Exclnt Third! Heather at Signtech is currently doing my boat name and a large quantity of "I'd rather be in a Donzi" stickers with a special super glue adhesive backing. Hey, Axa, where are the action pics? Stop browsing bimini tops and download those things! We now have mass quantities of kahlua dude! Gotta remember the Rye though.

not my thong third, they came from the last donzi get together. hopefully the abay version will be crotchless. rip, being an elder statesman of OSO, you need to talk to the administration because donzi.net has a pukin' smiley. also, where do you get your fender covers dry cleaned?

Third... Glad to see you will make it!! As far as booze, we have got it covered. Looks like mudslides and Wallabedarned's. I have to change the name to "Well I'll Be Damned" because of the copyright laws for the OutB..K Steak House chain. Looking forward to a great weekend.

As far as dinner on Friday night, we have choices. We can go to the Dockside or Coleman's Smoke House. Both have great food, but there are others as well.

If Ripem's in agreement, we can try to meet at our boathouse for warm-ups before dinner. I'll be up thursday night and have the cocktails brewing by noon on friday.

I've also pm'd you (Third) with my cell number. Look forward to hearing from everyone!

note the dog is closest to the cleaning supplies. Carrying that bucket into the boathouse from the truck wiped his ass out too.... :p

Sounds like Mark L. is in. As Axa knows, I invited him along a week or two ago, though his calender showed a conflict with a midday Sat. Eliminator delivery. That delivery has moved to Fri. I spoke to him tonight. I was there cleaning the bottom of my boat, waxing the hullsides, changing oil and filters, and sending my fender covers out to the dry cleaners. ;) It'll be good to have him along. :)

Also, Ragged Edge was launching his boat as I arrived late this afternoon.
Didn't talk much, but it appears he's a happy camper. :D

Keep doing that dance Third...Just checked the Intellicast weather. Chance of showers, high of 70. Though if it doesn't shower, those are good horsepower temps. :)

Just back from the Bay. Clean, gassed, ready to go. It's a beautiful day down there today....for OCTOBER.

Count on clouds and cool, less than 70 weather for Saturday. Anything nicer is a bonus.

We run in anything other than pouring rain...agreed?

I'm thinkin' jeans and socks and long sleeves need be available...so that we may be warm and enjoy the running regardless. ;)

Axa, will Gail have her earmuffs on?

Maybe Dianne and I will get to wear those cool Formula Racing Jackets! :D (trying to find the brightside)

5 inch, those little blocks are a 3 qt. oil change with a filter, right? :p

Rip, I'm not sure if it was 3qts a side or total. We'll find out Saturday. BTW, how could you need gas? We didn't see you on plane once all last weekend. (drives like girl smiley here) Keep drivin' like that and we'll install downriggers and a live well. Is Ragged all set to go for the weekend?

That's because I was on the road last weekend Goofy.

I hope it gets snotty Saturday...I'll drive like a girl, and you can check out the ass end of my boat. :D

Ragged ?? I hope so. Don't forget, when you see him going for the feelgood pass, pull your throttles back. He'll think that Fountain does 100 mph. :p

I'm pretty sure that was your trawler steaming towards Singer last fri. Maybe the events of Fri night clouded your memory. Bring on the snot, I've been in the big lake all season. BTW, as I write this the local weather guy is talking about the possibility of water spouts on Ontario Fri and Sat AM. He even used the term lake effect showers

It's Friday morning, boat is cleaned and almost ready. Gotta pack it fuel it (should take about 250 bucks  ). We're shooting for the Bay at about noon. Friends are coming with a 223, if it gets real windy, they'll ride with us.

Diver, you still in?? Get that 242 up there whenever you can. We'll either be at the west village dock in the boat or out being stupid on the town. :drink:

I'm off to finish getting ready.

I want to be first to thank you to Rippem, Axa, 5pm and "The little guy" for a great time in the islands this weekend. Fairly good weather, great friends, wonderful drinks (thanks Axa) and just plain good times. You guys are great and your "boathouse life" is awesome. Too bad Sunday was the best "buzz-day" for us, figures, the day ya gotta go home is the best party day!!!!!

Anyway way, good to get to know you Randy, Dave, Mike and Peter and all the pretty and wonderful better-halfs. Thanks again you guys, I had a real good time (even if I can't keep up with you). :D :D :D

Third,

Axa and Rip are still there on this gorgeous monday. We didn't get home till around 11 last night. It was a great weekend and a lotta fun. You are all great people (I'd expect nothing less from pond folks) I haven't had the chance yet to download my pics yet but between all the cameras there's alot of incriminating evidence floating around. I believe the highlight of the weekend for the boathousers was when you took those dirty nasty toe jam filled feet of yours and tread upon the sacred deck of the 353.   I could feel the anxiety from 4 boats away. Had you been there with a full bucket, or filling one, we'd have needed an AED to revive Rip. I salute you! I'm sure as a result, Rip spent the majority of this beautiful morning chamoising and mumbling incoherently to himself.

Rippem 08-09-2004 05:06 PM

Good people, great time. :drink: Performance boating at it's best. :) Let the uplaoding of pics begin. :D I can't get anything done about that right now as I'm just in off the River and off to work...but I will... Entertained Axa's wife and drank his beer today as he was busy.

ThirdBird, don't forget my disc of pics, we'll all swap...uh...exchange pictures that is. :D

Was at the same beach today to get out of the wind it was beautiful there today. So this dude leaves the beach with his wife and three kids in a Park rental boat, I'm in the water, he says hi, I say how ya' doin' and that it's a beautiful day. He says "looked like you had a pretty good time yesterday" with a big sly grin....I thought his wife was going to deck him. ;)

Thanks, Julie, Sue, Kitty, Dianne, Gail, and Samantha... :drink:

I may have to make that first venture into the Uncensored Forum to view some of the evidence from the weekend. :p

5 inch...actually given my line of work, I was thinking in terms of what bones were going to snap when Third lost his azz on all that wax...Excuse me...Third calls it GLAZE don't 'ya Dave??

Re: 1000 Islands Formula Cruise

Ya know Rip, in a more coherant frame of mind, I never would have set foot on your deck but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :drink: :drink: :drink:

It's those damn early morning bloodies, they do it to me every time!!!!

And, ahhhh yes, the deck glaze (I think I mock glazed it a bit for you didn't I? I tend to get a little "open" if you know what I mean. Then I fell off Axa's boat and lost Bruces Bud glasses. I'm just a classy guy, eh?

Long live Montrose Rip (oh, wait, they're long dead). Nice to see another fellow music dinasour!!!!!

We didn't have a digital camara so our pics will have to be scanned, they'll pop up here when you least expect it.

5P, we never swapped Donzi/Crow stickers. Actually, I didn't bring any sticky crows along. Didn't want to offend on our first get-together. But, next time, all's fair in love and boating dude!!!!!!!!!! The birds will land at 2:00 am while you're cuddling Miss Kitty!
